Softball Training Schedule

Players, coaches and fans alike demand professionalism from interscholastic sports officials. The Michigan Officials Association expects nothing different. The Michigan Officials Association expectation includes having a professional presence, attitude, and dress code. Michigan Officials Association (MOA) is committed to ensuring fair games at the highest level of sportsmanship. As a representative from the Michigan Official Association, you are the final authority on the softball field; and as such, you must have the training and character to accept that responsibility.

| A qualified representative from the Michigan Official Association organizes and conducts softball training for interscholastic sports officials each year prior to the start of the interscholastic softball season. The purpose of the training is to refresh current sports officials in rules and procedures of softball. All trainers are MSHAA certified. Participation in these training and eduction classes freely offered by the Michigan Official Association will benefit any member interested in developing their skills as interscholastic softball official. |

Kay Korns |
| Kay played competitive basketball and softball while in high school. She has a Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan University, and retired with 39 years experiences as a Physical Education teacher. Kay coached girls' basketball and volleyball for eight years, and is a registered officials in both sports. Kay has 30 years experience as a softball umpire, most of those years with the Association. She was been trainer with the Association for three years. |

Scott Shaw |
| Scott has been a member of the MSHAA and the Association for 3 years. Scott has been an official for 10 years. Scott became a trainer for the Association when he started the Association. Scott goals are to help all officials to be prepared and confident going into their games. |

Terri Chretien |
| Terri has been an ASA and USSAA umpire for High School softball for ten years. She became a trainer for the Association in 2006. Terri has extensive past in High School Sports. Along with playing High School and college softball, she was also an volunteer coach, and a high school softball coach from 1992 to 1997. Terri was on of the umpires for the 2002 regional softball tournaments. |

The Michigan Officials Association (MOA) is an association of umpires and referees (A.K.A. sports officials) serving southeast Michigan interscholastic sports. Currently the members from the association officiate baseball, softball, basketball and football.
