Baseball Training Schedule

Players, coaches and fans alike demand professionalism from interscholastic sports officials. The Michigan Officials Association expects nothing different. The Michigan Officials Association expectation includes having a professional presence, attitude, and dress code. Michigan Officials Association (MOA) is committed to ensuring fair games at the highest level of sportsmanship. As a representative from the Michigan Official Association, you are the final authority on the baseball field; and as such, you must have the training and character to accept that responsibility.
 
A qualified representative from the Michigan Official Association organizes and conducts baseball training for interscholastic sports officials each year prior to the start of the interscholastic baseball season. The purpose of the training is to refresh current sports officials in rules and procedures of baseball. All trainers are MSHAA certified. Participation in these training and eduction classes freely offered by the Michigan Official Association will benefit any member interested in developing their skills as interscholastic baseball official.

Dave Shalda - MSHAA Certified Trainer Dave Shalda
Dave Shalda is currently one of the baseball trainers for the Michigan Official's Association. As of January 2006, Dave has been with the Michigan Official's Association for 17 years. Dave had been a baseball trainer for 6 years. Dave's mission with the Michigan Official's Association is to help new people to become the best officials they can be. Dave is an Official for baseball, softball, basketball, and football.
Mitch Flogaus - MSHAA Certified Trainer Mitch Flogaus
Mitch joined the Association and MSHAA in 1989, and currently officiates baseball games. Before joining the association, Mitch officiated Little League games. Mitch became a trainer for the Association in 2004.
Blaine Wilding - MSHAA Certified Trainer Blaine Wilding
Blaine Wilding has been a member of the Michigan Officials Association and MSHAA for 15 years. Blaine joined the association in 1991 after 10 years of officiating Little League baseball and T-ball. Blaine has a total of 25 years as an official. Blaine became a board member and baseball trainer for the Michigan Officials Association in 1998, Today, Blaine works to help new and current members with improving their skills as officials. Blaine was one of the officials at Red Wings vs Southgate Police Charity Baseball Game held in 200?.
Norm Gozalka - MSHAA Certified Trainer Norm Gozalka
Norm has been with the Michigan Officials Association and MSHAA for 19 years. Norm has been a trainer with the Association for 10 years, and sat on the board for 6 years. Norm has officiated baseball and football games for the the NCAA.
